Justine Jobson - The Fragrant Garden

Justine Jobson originally has a background in art and feels that her passion for colour, texture, drawing, nature and being outdoors lead to her becoming a garden designer and felt like this was a natural progression for her to make.

The 2011 Jacksons Show Gardens competition was only the second design competition Justine had entered. The first being in 2010 for the indoor RHS Plant and Design show fitting the brief of 'A Winter Garden' in which she won her first RHS medal for her design.

Justine feels that so many gardens are neglected now as people are spending more money on improving the inside of their houses instead and loves it when she walks down the street seeing how some can still be enthusiastic and it showing how they have put a lot of thought, time and effort on making their garden stand out.

This leads to her design for the Jacksons Show Gardens, she explains ' The idea for my Jacksons show garden came about for my love of seeing a good front garden! I feel that the area in front of a property, be it a tiny period town house or a large new-build, is the perfect blank canvas to showcase your personality and favourite plants to the rest of your neighbourhood'.
